Iridology:
Every eye is a wonder.
It's a unique,
beautiful reflection of you.
--Sherri Lund
The following Iridology questions are answered below:
Do you ever question why some people seem to hardly ever get sick while
others appear to suffer all the time? Or notice some people seem more emotional
than others? Maybe you've thought about the few people
who seem to be able to abuse their bodies with diet or lifestyle choices while
others seem more "fragile." Why do these differences exist?
What is Iridology?
Someone said that the iris is the living image of what the eye has been, what it
is, and even what it can become. Jon Miles said, "The iris is like a
chalkboard which does not get erased."
Iridology (pronounced
eye-ri-dol'-ogy) is the science of studying the iris or the colored portion
of the eye. According to Mr. Miles, Iridology is based on empirical
observations (made by medical doctors and other researchers over the last 300
years) which suggest that certain dysfunctional states in the body are indicated
by different textures and color properties within the iris. It is useful for preventative health because
these imbalances in the
body can be detected early on, giving time for adjustments to be made using
natural therapies.
In addition to this, Iridology is:
- Non-invasive
- Informative
- Comprehensive
- A cost-effective way to assess the body
The basic premise of Iridology is to holistic in nature -- to consider the
relationships within the body and where imbalances are located. It does
not attempt to address a specific symptom or disease. However, once
uncovered, these imbalances (and factors contributing to them) can be addressed,
often causing symptoms to diminish or disappear.
Iridology is an invaluable tool for designing a plan for well-being.

What are the benefits of Iridology?
Children as well as adults benefit from
an Iridology session. It is one of the tools Sherri likes to use as she prepares
individualized recommendations for her clients and it partners
beautifully with nutrition. Iridology:
- Helps the practitioner identify a client's potential strength or health
weakness
- Provides a starting point for lifestyle considerations and education
- Partners beautifully with nutrition
- Helps prevent unwanted conditions by showing areas that need support
- Reflects your unique body type
- Shows changes as the body heals
Your body wants to be in balance, and
when you give it what it needs, it will respond and do what it can to regain balance,
allowing you to make the most of your life.
Sherri feels that information gathered in an
Iridology session provides
particular and valuable information for your health and wellness.
Note: Iridology does not reveal disease and an
appointment doesn’t lead to a diagnosis. While the iris can reveal some
conditions and stress affecting body systems, it is most useful for prevention
and long-term health.

What can it show?
Iridology is a valuable tool -- a
unique form of analysis that can help the practitioner (and ultimately the
client) in ways other modalities cannot. What foods
should you include or avoid in your diet? Do you need some
deep breathing exercises? These are questions that may be answered in your session.
The various markings revealed in the iris
include:
- Areas of stress
- Inflammation
- Toxicity in your body
- Lymphatic congestion
- Your genetic predisposition to
health and disease
- Body constitution
- Colon conditions
- Digestion tendencies
- Your ability to "bounce back" after illness
To the Iridologist, an iris analysis can show signs of imbalance --
imbalances that may be contributing to a client's symptoms.

What Iridology doesn't show
Iridology does not reveal
disease and Iridologists do not diagnose. While the iris can reveal some
current conditions and stress affecting body systems, it is most useful for
prevention and long-term health.

How long has it been around?
The science of Iridology has been around for thousands of
years and was mentioned in the works of Hippocrates. A form of iris
interpretation was used in ancient China -- fortunately, it has made great
progress since then.Researchers of Iridology look at lots of eyes!
Studies have been done around the world (and are still continuing), and all of
this has culminated in the science of Iridology practiced today. With the use of
microscopes and digital cameras developed over the past 20 years, research has
advanced rapidly.
Dr. Bernard Jensen, considered the Father of Iridology in
the United States, and many other Iridologists from around the world have
contributed to the form of Iridology practiced at Bridge to Better Health. We practice and recommend Iridologists trained in
Comprehensive Iridology.

What is Comprehensive Iridology?
There are several forms of Iridology: Jensen, American, European, etc.
Comprehensive Iridology™ is the type of Iridology taught and recognized by
International Iridology Practitioners Association (IIPA). This
professional organization has members around the world that have all completed
the requirements for this designation. So what is Comprehensive Iridology?
IIPA's Comprehensive Iridology™ draws on the most up-to-date research in the
world and put into what is called a constitutional framework. This
framework is "based on inherent iris signs that have been clinically researched
and verified for the pathology that my potentially occur if preventative
measures are not taken." (Iridology: A Handbook, by Kianna Smith, p 5).
This constitutional approach helps the Iridologist and the client pinpoint which key
issues and organs need to be supported, helping them to understand how
their health challenges can develop and thus how they can be prevented.
