"When the cause of the
disease
is removed, the body becomes
a self-healing entity."
-Norman Ford
Imagine being a police detective and only having one skill to solve a crime - fingerprinting. You would be able to solve some cases but wouldn't you be limited? Imagine if you came to a scene and everything had been wiped clean - what would you do?
When you call our office and say you want improved health, we believe you. We partner with
our clients to address health issues, working like Sherlock Holmes
to consider several angles of the health scene. We look at nutritional
deficiencies, emotional and environmental stressors, the effects of trauma and
toxins, and Interference Fields. Blood work, hormone, and other lab tests
provide deeper insight as principles from Functional Medicine are applied to
check on the biochemical and physiological processes in your body .
Sherri has been studying Dr. Kharrazian's functional approach to health for several years and applies those principles to her health practice.
You may have heard about his recent book, Why Do I Still Have Thyroid Symptoms When My Lab Tests Are Normal?.
It is enabling many people to find balance after years of thyroid symptoms and
trying to determine what was wrong.
The principles of functional medicine are critical
to re-balance, monitor, and manage a variety of chronic health conditions as well
as those symptoms that have not yet developed into something severe.
As a result, you have a thorough assessment that aids us in determining a plan
of action unique to you. An individualized set of guidelines gives recommended supplements, diet,
and lifestyle changes.
Because I like positive results, and because my client and I have a partnership
in improving their health, we both have specific functions in our relationship.
Unraveling a health issue takes time and effort. As you consistently apply what
you learn about your body and particular health issue, you will see and
appreciate positive change.
For people who do not live in the Houston area, we now are offering long
distance consultations. Please call our office for more information.
What can I expect in an appointment?
Our Wellness Consultations are a time that we devote to you. To be most
effective, we consider information from multiple sources including your complete
Intake Form, lab work, and in-house testing.
Our program is very thorough. The initial appointment is actually divided
into two visits: Part 1 and Part 2. During Part 1, Sherri Lund gathers
information about your past and present health issues, combines in-house testing with outside lab work,
and completes other
forms of testing. At the second meeting, Part 2, Sherri Lund will review
her clinical findings with you and present a written report along with her
recommendations. Between these two sessions, Sherri studies your file to
determine the various imbalances that are evident and prioritizes them so
that her recommendations will be most effective and efficient. She compiles her
findings into the individualized report written just for you.
In some situations, additional lab work is necessary in order for the most
informed recommendations to be made. We will help you with this process.
The first appointments are scheduled for 1-1/2 hour each.
Follow up appointments are scheduled for 1 hour.
